Meme Masterclass: comedy as resistance
In Brazil, there’s an old saying: ‚I must laugh so I don’t cry,‘ reflecting how humor, along with cultural expressions like dance and music, plays a vital role in the mental well-being of marginalized communities. In the age of social media, nothing connects us quite like memes. This workshop explores the power of memes and comedy as a tool for resistance.
Class includes:

- Meme politics/Meme pedagogy
- Joke writing for memes
- Make your own memes

Sex-Gender Dissidences for the defense of their territories
This workshop will focus in local experiences of Mayan sex-gender dissidences from Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico and their participation in struggles for the defense of their territories against megaprojects fund by national and international companies and governments, where the binary hetero-cis-patriarchal, colonial and capitalist system is still oppressing Mayan communities since over 500 years. The idea of ‚cuerp@-territorio‘ (body-territory) develop by the Mayan activist and sanadora (healer) Lorena Cabnal, will be also implemented to reflect about how the defense of our territories, nature, natural resources and all ways of life and not alive entities are crossing our migrant-diasporic-BIPOC bodies (cuerp@s) that also need to be protected and defense everywhere we are. Autobiographical tools will be implemented to create an open space of sharing experiences between all the participants.

The workshop objective is to create a transformative and empowering photography workshop that documents and celebrates queer families through Polaroid photography.
Family refers to chosen family, partners, friends, lovers, anyone that one is comfortable with, a tribe of some sort.By capturing their unique stories and relationships, the workshop aims to redefine family dynamics, affirm queer families as real families,and provide a safe and supportive environment for self-expression and
celebration. The workshop aims to affirm and empower by providing queer families with a platform to share their stories and be seen in a positive, affirming light;
to document using photography to create tangible, lasting
memories that challenge and transform the narrative around queer
families and to allow community building by fostering a sense of belonging and mutual support.

non-sedative nervines that calm and sooth our nervous system. We want to
dedicate time to relate to these medicinal plants while being in touch
with our senses. We will take a look at how to prepare the herbs so that
they can express themselves in supporting us in our daily efforts to
disconnect and creating a rest promoting environment.
Please bring a clean jar with a lid as well as paper/notebook and pens
with you

We are soooo excited to announce our next collaborative event!
In times that often demand our resilience and constant output, and times of radical change and uncertainty the need for rest and collective reimagining has never been more crucial. Together we as Gladt, Casa Kuá and LesMigraS would like you to join us for a weekend of connection, creativity, and community as we gather to explore the themes of rest, resistance, and the reimagining of our times and spaces. The weekend will consist of a collection of Workshops, discussions, meals together, as well as art and music. We look forward to having you there.
The communication will be mainly in english and german spoken language. Because of capacity limitations we can’t provide external interpreters. Translation will be organised as a shared task within the space. Many of the facilitators and organisers speak different languages (castellano, french, farsi, etc.). Do not forget to mention your language needs in the form so we can organise support. The space we are located in is wheelchair accessible and has floor guidance system (Bodenleitsystem). Let us know if there is further accessibility issues you’d need assistance with.
This is a sober event so please be respectful and mindful about the people and the space you will be sharing.
The space is not completely isolated so there is a possibility that non-queer non-BIPOC people can pass by but not be in the actual event.
Attendance is based on a negative Covid test before arrival. Fully vaccinated and boosted should also still get tested. We will provide extra Covid-19 measures for specific tasks.A mask should be worn when serving food.
