A workshop about language: tongue
and body! For everybody who speaks languages other than German and
sometimes doesn’t understand why Schönen Tag noch does not go
with a smile…In this workshop about words and body language, we will use
activities that focus on language, theatre, writing, yoga and tai chi
to learn how to move more easily through the daily German-speaking
environment. We use activities around. With humour, we say and show that
we all have the same rights. Please bring comfortable clothes. German
language can be used but no knowledge necessary.

Many people feel insecure about supporting someone who experience(d) violence and/or discrimination: How
can I intervene in a violent situation? How can I offer support that
relates to my own position? How do I take care of my own boundaries
while giving support? Based on our experiences of community based
work in LesbianTrans communities we want to offer ideas for support and
develop strategies together. (We won’t talk about real incidents of
violence nor will we do role plays.)
Tuesday, 24. 05. 2011, 18:00

Empowerment-Workshop for people who struggle with German language everyday. In this workshop we learn to develop our own empowerment process for a daily use in a German-language environment. If you wish, you can bring in your own experiences of language-based discrimination in different spaces (administration, workplace, relationship). With creative activities based on writing, talking, theater, photography, oral culture and humour, we will play with words and exchange between languages (your native languages and/or the German language). Multilingualism and humour become a tool for overcoming alienation in exile and at home.
